Tonya took Child Education at the WCSCC and earned her GED in 2016. She worked in a pharmacy for 7 years until she got custody of her 2 nieces. She now has four children, her 2 nieces and 2 of her own.

There are many things she enjoys about working with children. One thing she enjoys is when a child sees her and runs up to her, knowing that she is making a difference. Tonya’s favorite thing about working with children is that they teach her as much as she teaches them and every day is a new adventure.

Outside of work she doesn’t have many hobbies but enjoys spending time with her kids and family. They enjoy taking walks and just being together as every day is a new memory.

Denise loves seeing the smiles on children’s faces when they arrive in the morning and how happy they are when learning new things. She also loves learning from them and watching them grow from little babies into big kids getting ready for kindergarten.
