Nicole studied at Ashland County- West Holmes Career Center for two years. She continued her Early Childhood Education study into college and is still working towards her associate’s degree. Nicole has had many babysitting jobs and worked in a nursing home facility specializing in Alzheimer’s and dementia. She has cashier experience and has been involved in many extracurricular activities including; clogging, 4-H, the interact club, German club, public speaking etc.
Nicole’s favorite thing about teaching children is the smile on their face when they accomplish something. The day a child gets excited over correctly spelling their name after working on it for weeks is so wonderful. Their eyes light up when they can identify a new color. Children love to be smart and they love to be appreciated and happy. Nicole loves to make a difference. She loves the 2 ½ to 3 ½ year olds because she is their beginning teacher, she works with them on potty training and she is their first introduction to circle time.
Outside of work Nicole loves to read. She also enjoys skating on the ice and pavement. During the summer her favorite thing to do is swim. She says her, “dog likes to take her on walks!” She likes to keep herself busy by playing pool, mini golf and bowling. Nicole likes to spend time with friends and bake. She states that she is only a decent baker if the recipe calls for chocolate though!
